Splitboard Day Touring

Format:  Full Day

Description:

Designed for people with some splitboarding experience, this day will be spent in the famed Wasatch Mountains.  After a morning meeting to finalize equipment, the group will rejoin in either Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon.  We will focus on uphill technique and route finding in avalanche terrain as we ascend slopes in search of prime backcountry lines.  After changing over and discussing group management, we’ll descend through soft Utah powder.  Additional runs or avalanche rescue practice will round out the day.

  • Splitboard touring routine, including preparation, execution, and conclusion.
  • Efficient touring skills, including uphill technique and route finding tips.
  • Finding quality snow!
